Dr James Jepson | Senior Research Fellow at UCL Institute of Neurology

Dr James Jepson explains seeing neurology as a pyramid. 'I see scientific researchers as a pyramid. We want to get to the top of that pyramid - the top is a cure for the disease - but we can't get to the top without building foundations of that pyramid and that is what we do as basic researchers. So what we generally hope for is if we can understand the basis of the disease, we can hope to cure it, so our work won't identify the cure, but it will build the foundation into that cure we hope in the future whenever that may be.'
