What is a Virtual Challenge?

A Virtual Challenge is a challenge event where you choose the course, the time it takes to complete and when you want to take part! There are many to choose from, from 5ks to ultra-marathons, climbing enough steps to scale Mount Everest, to swimming enough lengths in a pool that you could have swam the English Channel. You can follow one of our pre-set Virtual Challenges or make up your own!

The Virtual #MyPRL Challenge

This free virtual challenge is open to all. It is the perfect opportunity to make the most out of your summer, to keep fit and healthy, and all the while raising vital funds for neurological research.

By joining Team #BrainResearch UK, you are helping us to fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected by neurological conditions.

Simply choose from one of the four options below, pick a route of your choice, and then complete your challenge on 15th or 16th August:

1. My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100

100-mile ride

2. My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46

46-mile ride

3. My Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 19

19-mile ride

4. My Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle

Do it your way with your own distance (starting from 1km) and your own wheels of choice (from bike to scooter, skateboard to unicycle, get creative on non-motorised transport!)

How to take part

Step 1

Register for the virtual My Prudential Ride London event for free.

Step 2

Let us know. We’d really love to send out a t-shirt to you in the post, so let us know that you are taking part in a challenge and email us at events@brainresearchuk.org.uk with your full postal address and preferred size and we can get one sent.

Step 3

Set up your fundraising page. Online fundraising is an excellent way to reach out to your family and friends. We would suggest creating your page on Virgin Money Giving or via Facebook!

Step 4

Complete your challenge on 15th or 16th August. Don’t forget to download the official app, which will be available on Race Day, to track and log your journey.

Step 5

Get your certificate. Once you have successfully completed your challenge and your distance has been logged on the My Prudential Ride London app, you can download and print your own personal finisher certificate.

Step 6

Share on social media. Post updates for all your family and friends to see. Why not turn it into a friendly competition and challenge them to take part as well? Remember to tag us on #BrainResearchUK and #MyPRL

Other virtual challenges

We will keep on releasing new Virtual Challenges, so please keep a look out for more challenges to take part in!

Good luck!
