Run a 10K in your own back garden or local park, and run in your own time at your own speed!

What is a Virtual Challenge?

A Virtual Challenge, is a challenge event where you choose the course, the time it takes to complete and when you want to take part! There are many to choose from, from 5ks to ultra-marathons, climbing enough steps to scale Mount Everest, to swimming enough lengths in a pool that you could have swam the English Channel. You can follow one of our pre-set Virtual Challenges or make up your own!

The Virtual 10K Challenge

You can run it wherever you like; all in one go, or break it up over many days running a shorter distance each day – to total 10km (6.2 miles). Our virtual challenges are a perfect way to keep fit while raising vital funds for neurological research as part of your daily exercise routine.

By joining Team #BrainResearch UK, you are helping us to fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected by neurological conditions.

How to take part

Step 1

Register for your virtual 10k challenge:

Step 2

Let us know. We’d really love to send out a free running vest or t-shirt to you in the post so let us know you are taking part in a challenge and email us at events@brainresearchuk.org.uk with your full postal address and preferred size and we can get one sent!

Step 3

Set up your fundraising page. Online fundraising is an excellent way to reach out to your family and friends. We would suggest creating your page on Virgin Money Giving or via Facebook!

Step 4

Complete your challenge. Remember to use a running watch or app to track your time and distance. Our training guides give more useful tips and guidance on how to train.

Step 5

Get your medal. All you need to do is send a screenshot of proof your achievement to the virtual event organiser to get your virtual medal and certificate!

Step 6

Share on social media. Post updates for all your family and friends to see. Why not turn it into a friendly competition and challenge them to take part as well?

Other virtual challenges

We will keep on releasing new Virtual Challenges, so please keep a look out for more challenges to take part in!

Good luck!
