You don’t have to include Brain Research UK in your will to take advantage of either
service, but we hope you’ll consider including a gift to us once friends and family have been provided for. Even a small percentage (a residuary gift) will make a real impact in funding future neurological research. Residuary gifts are inflation proof and exempt from inheritance tax.
If you’re based in England and Wales, you can write your will online in a few easy steps with our partner Farewill, the UK's number one online will-writing service. You can write your will in as little as 15 minutes, with live, online support from specialists.
When you submit your will, it’s checked by Farewill’s will experts. Once approved, you'll need to print and sign it alongside two witnesses, before safely storing it.

Available across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the National Free Wills Network offers a free will-writing service that connects you with a local expert solicitor, either in an office or remotely, to write your will for free.
To receive a list of locally participating solicitors, please complete our National Free Wills Network request form or call 020 7404 9982. Once you receive the pack, you can select a solicitor of your choice and book an appointment. Your pack should arrive in five working days.
We have also partnered with The Goodwill Partnership, the largest distributor of home-visit solicitor-provided Wills in England and Wales. They also provide video and phone appointments should you prefer.
You’ll be visited at home by a trained financial professional – not a solicitor, but someone with in-depth understanding of the process – who will take your instructions. These will then be passed to one of The Goodwill Partnership’s independent solicitor partners who will provide your Will directly to you.
