Our valued corporate partner, Acrisure, recently hosted a memorable charity football tournament at the iconic Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea FC, to raise funds for Brain Research UK.

A total of 20 teams from across the London insurance market laced up their football boots to participate in the annual competition.

An incredible £127,000 was raised, which will help us to continue to fund vital research to help people with neurological conditions live better, longer.

Players in the tournament

Acrisure selected Brain Research UK as its 2025 Charity Partner in honour of their late colleague Ian Wicks, who sadly passed away in 2024 following a brain aneurysm.

It was especially moving to have Ian’s wife and family present on the day, with his son Jonathan and son-in-law Adam proudly taking to the pitch as part of the competing teams.

Ian's children, Jonathan and Sarah, and Yvonne from BRUK speaking about the importance of the cause.

Congratulations to Canopius, who claimed victory in the Cup Competition, and to Talbot Underwriting and AIG for taking home the Plate Competition titles.

A highlight of the day was the auction of a Chelsea FC shirt, signed by the 2024/25 squad, which raised nearly £500.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who donated, participated and supported the event – and to the team at Acrisure who ensured that everything ran seamlessly. It was truly a day to remember.

The tournament is just one of the many incredible fundraising initiatives that Acrisure has lined up for the year. You can read about the team’s recent accomplishment of the Three Peaks Challenge here.
