Student fundraising

By getting involved with Brain Research UK at school, college or university you can support research that will help those affected by neurological conditions to live better, longer.

Did you know?

Migraine
affects 1 in 5 university students
Brain injury
is a leading cause of death and disability in young adults
Brain tumours
kill more under 40s than any other cancer

Why get involved with Brain Research UK?

Fundraising for Brain Research UK helps to fund vital neurological research that is helping to transform outcomes for people like Sophie.

Sophie running the London Marahon

Sophie was on a night out with friends when she tripped in “dodgy shoes” and hit her head on concrete. Despite doctors thinking she might not survive after her accident, she’d made almost a full recovery in just two short years and joined #TeamBrainResearchUK to run the TCS London Marathon!

Recoveries like Sophie’s just wouldn’t be possible without research. By supporting Brain Research UK, you can become a key part of these successes – all while unlocking opportunities for yourself!

Whether you’re going solo, or you’re part of a club or society, there are so many ways that you can fundraise at university. Have a look below to see some of our favourite ways to get involved.

Whether you’re part of a RAG, sports team, or society, we’d love to collaborate with you this academic year! Our partners get access to all the usual resources – and more – as we work together to build a partnership that benefits everyone.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Exclusive volunteering opportunities – we’ll connect your members with hands-on ways to support our cause and make a real impact
  • Regular catch ups – your dedicated partnership manager will be on hand throughout your collaboration with us to share updates, offer guidance on plans, and highlight the impact you’re having
  • Certificates and celebrations – we’ll recognise your members’ contributions with official certificates at the end of your time with us.

Whether it’s on your campus or at a local hotspot, organising a collection day is a fantastic way to raise funds (and awareness!) for neurological research.

Get a team together, and take on an event for neurological research! We have places in distances from 5 kilometres all the way up to full marathons!

Prefer beautiful landscapes to concrete jungles? Why not take on the National 3 Peaks Challenge, or another one of our bucket list adventures?

See our full list of running and challenge events.

Prefer to volunteer your time with us, instead? From cheering on our runners at the TCS London Marathon, to writing Christmas cards to our supporters – there’s lots of ways that you can get involved this academic year (and beyond!).

Whether it’s a bake sale, a quiz night, or a 24-hour walkathon – every penny raised by our wonderful community plays a crucial role in funding vital neurological research.

However you decide to get involved, we’re incredibly grateful for your support, and can’t wait to help you get started!
