Teams are busy raising awareness and inspiring people to support through regular donations

As a charity the gifts we receive from regular giving provide a vital source of income that enables us to continue funding life-changing neurological research. As a result, we want to inspire more people to support us through a regular gift. The best and most cost-effective way to do this is via fundraisers out in the community, raising awareness and engaging with members of the public to inspire them to support with a regular gift. We are therefore working in local communities to raise the vital funds needed for research to help everyone with a neurological condition live better, longer.

As a small charity we have brought in the support of a respected fundraising agency called Gather Campaigns to deliver this fundraising work. We have been working in partnership with Gather to train the fundraising team for our campaign and we will have fundraisers operating in various towns and cities across the country. Our fundraisers will be in these locations between early October 2023 and January 2024.

Our fundraisers follow the protocols set out by the Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Practice set out by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. We have taken the following steps to ensure our fundraising activity is being conducted in an appropriate manner:

  • All fundraisers have undertaken focused training on how to conduct their activities in a responsible, professional, and appropriate manner.
  • All fundraisers will be wearing clothing with our logo clearly displayed on it and they can be identified via an identification badge.
  • Independent ‘mystery shopping’ is carried out ensure that our fundraising activities are being implemented to the highest standard.
  • Contactless sign up is offered and all data is captured digitally; it is held and transferred via encrypted data management software.
  • Any sign up is double checked via a verification phone call. This is to make sure that the supporter is clear on the commitment that they have made and that they are happy with how they have been treated by our fundraisers.

Furthermore, all our activity is continuously monitored, so we are ready to adapt or stop if necessary.
