Opera at Syon, June 2022

We held our first Opera at Syon on Wednesday 22nd June and Thursday 23rd June. On each night, guests enjoyed a stunning performance by Diva Opera of Tosca and Cosi fan tutte and a delicious dinner in the beautiful setting of the Great Conservatory at Syon Park.

We had some fantastic items up for auction including stunning jewellery, fabulous paintings, a week’s fishing on the Don and a weekend for two at Churburg Castle in Italy.

We were grateful to be joined at the events by our Vice Chair of Trustees, Jonathan Kropman and the Chair of our Scientific Advisory Panel, Professor Kevin Talbot. Both emphasised the urgent need to fund more neurological research.

We hugely appreciate the fantastic and much valued support of the members of the Opera at Syon committee who, together with their guests, made these two evenings so special and helped to raise over £89,000. A few of the lovely comments received following the event:

What a fabulous evening. I don’t think I have enjoyed an opera as much as I did tonight .. and we have the most beautiful cufflinks.  I do hope we can join you again. If you happened to have availability for tomorrow evening too I would be delighted to attend.
Yesterday was a truly wonderful evening and the greatest of successes. I don’t think that anything could have been improved upon and our guests thought it was better than Covent Garden !
My husband, Leonard, joins me in sending thanks for a delightful evening on Thursday last. We have been keen audience members at Syon Opera over many years and were very pleased to support the new collaboration.
I hope the charity were pleased with the event and feel sure that a better understanding of your work will help to extend the reach in future years, particularly, as so many of the research projects you seek to enable focus on  issues of current public concern.
