The Mongol Rally

On 19th September 2019, colleagues Lucy Orr-Ewing, Izzy Findlay and Sophie Atkins organised and undertook their own Three Peaks Challenge in memory of Sue Grist, the founder of Stone and River consultants who sadly died from a brain aneurysm.

In the summer of 2019, Gus Johnson and his friend Lissy Garland undertook an amazing challenge and adventure of driving more than 9,000 miles in battered old Fiat Panda 1.2l!! Both Gus and Lissy have lost close friends and family to brain tumors and wanted to raise money for research so that one day others won't have to go through the pain they saw.

Travelling over 9,000 miles in six weeks, through southern Europe, across the Caspian Sea, and on through the deserts of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, the car and its two occupants were challenged to the max on dirt tracks in 40 degree heat, travelling on average 300 miles a day. They raised the fantastic sum of £4,000, to be shared between Brain Research UK and Cool Earth.

Gus and Lizzy are very grateful to their key sponsors: Blake and Bailey Family Fund, Sherborne School, Garden Art Plus and Piggy Goes to Market.
